Dr. Russell Smith, known as Rusty to his friends, graduated from Life Chiropractic College and moved to Cleveland in 1987 to open his own practice. From October of that year until 1994 he served as team physician, traveling with the squads and opening his office at all hours of the day to treat the injured athletes. As Lee started their Athletic Training Program, Rusty relinquished the duties of team physician but remained a loyal fan and supporter of Flames Athletics. Rusty is married to the former Janet Jenkins and has three children, Michael, Natalie and Michelle.
