From 2003-2022 Mullins served as the Head Athletic Trainer and was instrumental in the establishment of the Sports Medicine Program at Lee University. He traveled with the athletic teams all over the country and was considered a vital part of powerful teams that won NAIA and NCAA conference, regional and national championships. He took over the role of Director of Sports Medicine in the spring of 2015.
Jeff was also a member of the Lee baseball teams that were reinstated during the 1997-98 seasons. He appeared in 109 games as a junior and senior and carried a solid batting average of .304.
