The fifth-ranked Lee men's golf team boosted its 2022-23 roster with the addition of Wyatt Bracket, Lee Director of Golf John Maupin announced today.

Brackett hails from just down the road in Dalton, Ga. and comes to the Flames after a decorated high school and junior career. He was tied for 22nd out of 230 golfers at the Future Masters (69-72-74) and placed 17th place at the Georgia Junior Championship (73-73-72). Brackett has eight Top 5 finishes out of 9 total SJGT events with a scoring average of 71.8. He was the SJGT TPC Sawgrass Champion, SJGT Points Leader for 2021, and received the SJGT Sportsmanship Award.

"Our men's golf team definitely got better today, and we're so happy to welcome Wyatt and the Brackett family to Lee University.  We were able to make contact with Wyatt very early in the process and had heard a lot of good things about him from one of our alumni," noted Maupin. "Wyatt's work ethic and passion for the game stood out instantly, as did his discipline off the course, as he has performed very well in the classroom.  All of that paid off for Wyatt, as he had a great summer, and really shot up the rankings.  We're adding a player that knows how to win tournaments and isn't afraid to put the work in to keep getting better.  I'm looking forward to having Wyatt join us next Fall, and excited to watch his journey unfold at Lee University."

"At the time around my commitment, I was considering Coastal Carolina, Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech, and UNC Wilmington. The first that thing stood out to me was the culture at Lee. I know it will be a place where I can grow as a person and get my golf to the next level.

When asked about his goals Brackett said, "I would hope to achieve the All-American status every season I compete in. During my time at Lee, I not only want to compete in a national championship, I want to win won.

"Thank you to everyone who has helped me get this point in my life and career. I'm ready to get my game to the next level," concluded Brackett.
