Seth Eagleson has been named Lee University's Male Athlete of the Week after helping to guide the men's cross country team to it's first ever National Championship title at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Cross Country Championship in Hougton, N.Y. last weekend.

Eagleson paced the first-place finish with a school freshman record of 25:11.9 in the 8k race. The New Palestine, Ind. native finished third out of 195 runners.

Eagleson earned NCCAA All-American status by finishing in the top-15 of the race and joined teammates Harold Smith, Tyler Boone, Jessica Childers and Elizabeth Sillcocks in earning the award. 

The freshman will now gear up for the indoor and outdoor track season which will begin Dec. 6 at the Birmingham Southern Invitational.
