Christina Johnson has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after helping to guide the Lady Flames to their first road victory of the season on Monday night.
The junior forward pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds and added six points in Lee's 66-44 drubbing of Mississippi College. The victory moves the Lady Flames to 9-4 overall and 6-4 in league play.
Johnson added nine rebounds and had five points in Saturday's 54-49 loss at Delta State. Johnson leads the team with 8.9 rebounds per game.
"Christina played incredible for us tonight," said head coach Marty Rowe after Monday's victory. "She is so tough inside and always puts herself in good position to grab the rebound."
Johnson and the Lady Flames will head to Rome, Ga. on Thursday to battle rival Shorter University. Tip time is set for 6 p.m.
