Lee University freshman Emiliegh Swafford has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women's Basketball Student Athlete of the Week.

Swafford received the honor after leading the Lady Flames to an 88-75 victory over Gulf South Conference (GSC) rival West Florida on Thursday evening in Walker Arena. The forward scored 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting and grabbed five rebounds in the contest. 

On Saturday the Decatur native and product of Meigs County High School put together another outstanding offensive performance. Swafford registered 25 points and hit 3-of-6 from beyond the arc as the Lady Flames fell in the final seconds to Valdosta State, 64-63. Lee is currently 12-6 on the year and are sitting in fourth place at 9-6 in the GSC.

Swafford is averaging a team-high 15.6 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game on the year. She and the Lady Flames will get back to work on Thursday as they travel to Alabama-Huntsville for a 6:30 p.m. tip.
