Lee pitcher Dustin Lawson has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Student-Athlete of the Week after helping to guide the Flames to road sweep over Gulf South Conference rival North Alabama last weekend.

Lawson pitched game one of Saturday's doubleheader and shutdown the Lions' offense. The senior right-hander tossed all nine innings of the Flames' 5-0 victory yielding just five hits and two walks while fanning eight.

"We played about as well of a team-game as we have played all year," said head coach Mark Brew after the victory. "Lawson was in control from pitch one and had a phenomenal outing."

The Cleveland native is 3-1 on the year in 12 games, making 11 starts. Lawson has a 2.41 ERA and has worked 71 innings allowing 55 hits and 22 walks to go along with 62 strikeouts.

Lawson and the Flames will match up with Trevecca Nazarene on Tuesday for non-conference game before opening the final conference homestand of the year against Valdosta State on Saturday at Olympic Field.
