Jamorris Gaines was named Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

The Sylvester, Ga. native joined Lee after the Christmas break and immediately made his presence felt. In leading the Flames to two victories last week Gaines scored 48 points, hitting 18-of-26 shots from the field , pulled down nine rebounds and hit 6-of-9 from behind the arc.

Gaines and the Flames are currently 16-1 overall and 7-1 in SSAC play. Lee will host No. 20 Emmanuel College on Thursday at 8 p.m. Brewton Parker comes calling on Saturday, tip time is set for 4 p.m.
