Men's Basketball junior Keevin Tyus has been named the Lee University Male Athlete of the Week after making an impact in his first two regular season games as a member of the Flames.
Tyus, a junior-transfer from Columbus State University, registered 18 points, five rebounds and three assists as Lee fell in a shootout, 106-101 to Miles College on Saturday evening in the West Georgia Classic.
Tyus came right back on Sunday afternoon and dropped in 18 more points to go along with 11 rebounds as the Flames claimed their first win of the young season, 79-63 over Lane College. The small forward from the Cincinnati, Ohio is averaging 18 points and eight rebounds through the first two contests.
"Our overall effort was better this afternoon," commented head coach Tommy Brown after the victory on Saturday. "Tyus gave us a second straight solid effort."
