Freshman women's tennis player Francesca Tondi has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week. 

Tondi, playing at the No. 1 singles spot, scored the Lady Flames lone victory over Young Harris College on Tuesday with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Elin Rundcrantz. 

On Friday Tondi teamed with Marta Garcia Nieto at No. 1 doubles to defeat Caroline Green and Hillary Lutz of Lees-Mcrae. In singles the native of Fano, Italy defeated Green 6-0, 6-3. Lee defeated Lees-Mcrae, 8-1.

Tondi and the Lady Flames are now 13-7 overall and will square off with Tennessee Wesleyan on Wednesday at 1 p.m from the DeVos Tennis Center.
