BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the second week in a row Lee University goalkeeper Daniel Hrenko received Gulf South Conference weekly honors as he was named the conference's top freshman of the week. 

Hrenko allowed just one goal in two matches last week, both wins for the Flames over Christian Brothers and Union. He had 13 saves on 33 shots-faced and turned in a shutout against the Bulldogs. 

The Tampa, Fla. native has also earned GSC Defender of the Week honors this season (9/27) and is a perfect 6-0 manning the net for the Flames this season.

"For a freshman he plays with a lot of maturity and has a lot of confidence," noted head coach Paul Furey. "Our defense continues to settle in and Dan has been stellar in goal," commented Furey.

Hrenko and The Flames sit at 7-3 after winning six straight matches and are a perfect 2-0 in leauge play. Lee will welcome Spring Hill College to town on Friday at 5 p.m. before battling West Florida on Sunday at 4 p.m.
