Freshman Taylor Davis was recognized as the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Men's Golfer of the Week for his play in the Lee University Spring Invitational last week at the Cleveland Country Club.

Heavy wind provided difficult scoring conditions for most in round one. Davis however fired a 4-under-par 68 to lead the event and give his team a two-shot advantage over the University of the Cumberlands in the team competition. Round two was canceled due to more wind and heavy rains giving Davis the tourney medalist honor and Lee the team victory.

Davis and the Flames will be back on the course Mar. 22 and 23 as a part of the Camp LeJeune Championship. The tournament takes place at Paradise Point Golf Course in Camp LeJeune, N.C.
