Leah Fortune has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after leading the Lee women's soccer team to a 1-1 record in Gulf South Conference (GSC) play this past week.

Fortune and the Lady Flames dropped an evenly contest battle with defending Div. II national champions and ninth-ranked West Flordia 1-0 on Friday evening in Pensacola, Fla.

The senior forward bounced back with two goals and two assists on Sunday to lead Lee past West Alabama, 5-3. The victory moves the Lady Flames to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the GSC.

On the year Fortune has tallied three goals and six assists. The Orlando, Fla. native is a Public Relations Major and three-year starter for Coach Matt Yelton's club.

Fortune and the Lady Flames will be back on the pitch Friday when they host Christian Brothers University at 6 p.m. The team will then travel to Cleveland, Miss. for a Sunday afternoon duel with Delta State at 2 p.m.
