Track runner Brianna Prugh has been recognized as Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after a strong showing in the Mountain Laurel Invitational at Sewanee University's Coughlan Track last weekend.

Prugh garnered her first career win with a time of 2:22.47 in the 800 meter run. The sophomore also eclipsed the NCCAA qualifying mark along with teammate Storyie Miller (2:24.27) who finished third.

The local product from Cleveland, Tenn. is a dual sport athlete as a member of the Lady Flames soccer team.

Prugh will join her teammates to wrap up the outdoor season at the NCCAA Outdoor Track National Championship in Rome, Ga. on May 1-3.
