Joseph Crook has been a valuable service to head coach Caleb Morgan since remaining with the Flames after outstanding years in cross country, and track and field. He begins his fifth year as assistant coach for both the cross country and track & field programs. He also serves as the recruiting coordinator for track & field.
He was recognized as the South Region Outdoor Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017 and also earned South Region Indoor Track and Field Assistant of the Year honors in 2018.
Crook, a native of King George, Virginia, ran cross country and track for the Flames during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. He was named an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete in 2013 and made the GSC Honor Roll following the 2014 cross-country season.
Crook remains on the honor roll in the 10000-meter run in Lee outdoor track history. He stands at seventh with a career-best mark of 33:00.41, which he set at the 2014 NCCAAÂ Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He also won the 65 Roses 5K held on the Lee campus in 2016 and 2017.Â
