Visiting Alabama Huntsville struck for three goals within three minutes and 85 seconds of the second half in claiming an important Gulf South Conference victory over the host Flames at Olympic Field on Friday afternoon.

The 4-2 victory allowed the Chargers to improve to 7-5-2 overall and 6-1-2 in the GSC standings. The Flames dropped to 5-5-4 and 4-4-2. Lee will close out the 2017 regular-season home schedule on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. when they celebrate Senior Day against conference-leading West Alabama.

The Flames jumped on top when Alfie Coldron tallied his fourth goal of the season on an assist from Samaan Williams. The goal came off a saved shot. The Chargers fought back and sent the battle into a 1-1 tie at the half when Jordan Wright picked up his seventh goal of the year at the 36:01 mark. The goal came off a strike into the far corner of the net when Connor Smelser delivered a pass to the middle from the top of the 18.

Lee regained a 2-1 advantage in the 47
th minute when Williams streaked past a Charger defender and blasted his unassisted shot into the right corner of the net. It was his fourth goal of the year.

The remainder of the evening belonged to UAH as they stunned the Flames with three quick goals. The first came at 62:50 when Corentin Diverres converted a header off the far left flank. Wright got the assist. Guy Glennett put the Chargers on top for the first time (64:08) with an unassisted score. The goal came off a missed-cleared ball by the Lee defense. UAH put the match away some two minutes and 27 seconds later when Diverres delivered the second header score of the game from inside the 8. Glennett placed his cross from the wing and near the end-line for the assist.

Shots for both teams were almost identical. The Flames had 12 and placed six inside the frame. The Chargers fired 11 shots and had seven on target. UAH keeper Myles Fullen (7-4-2) had four saves in recording the victory. Lee keeper Tristen Putnam (5-5-4) registered three saves.
