Lady Flames Lose 5-0 In GSC Quarterfinal

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – For the second time in two weeks, the Lee University women's tennis team was defeated by Mississippi College with a 5-0 margin Thursday afternoon at O'Connor Tennis Center. The Lady Flames (8-9) end their season in the Gulf South Conference Championship Quarterfinal.

No. 26 Mississippi College jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with scores of 8-0 and 8-1 at No. 3 doubles and No. 1 doubles, respectively. Joanna Grzegrzolka and Carley Sickinger battled Aneta Golawska and Tori Roberts in the second position, but the Lady Choctaws prevailed with a 7-5 tie-breaker to complete the doubles sweep.

Straight-set wins by Mississippi College at No. 6 singles and No. 3 singles clinched the team victory. The final four singles competitions were left unfinished.
