The No. 10 Lee men's golf team has announced the addition of Timo Raukas, a talented European junior from Estonia. Raukas will join the Flames who will be looking to replace talented seniors Scott Odell, Evan Spence and Dylan Lillard.

Getting to know Timo:
Timo joins the Flames all the way from Estonia where he has had a successful junior golf career. Timo also consider attending the University of South Alabama and Guilford College before deciding Lee University was the place for him. He felt like he was able to build a relationship with Coach Maupin throughout the recruiting process and believes Lee and the golf program will provide him with the resources and environment necessary to succeed both athletically and academically. Timo has his sights set on working hard to be a reliable player for the Flames and have a big impact on the course while also working toward his degree.

Junior Golf Accomplishments:

• 4^th place in European Men's Team Championship 2019
• 4^th place in Estonia National Strokeplay Championship 2019
• Top 20 in Finnish Amateur Championship 2018
• 3^rd place in Estonian Matchplay 2018
• 2^nd place in Finnish Junior Tour 2017
• 2^nd place in Estonian Matchplay 2017

Coach Maupin's Thoughts:
"Timo is a great addition to our team.  He's a very gifted athlete, and as his focus has narrowed in on golf he has made a lot of progress, which has turned in to some great tournament results.  His discipline, personal experience, and competitive experience are all things that I believe have him well prepared to make a big impact on our program.  This is a unique situation because Timo will be joining us in January, but taking a red-shirt year in the Spring, before beginning play in Fall 2020.  We're excited to have Timo join us, and looking forward to his time here."
