CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Lee University and the Gulf South Conference have announced the indefinite suspension of all sports effective immediately in response to the spread of COVID-19, the coronavirus.
 
The league released the following statement on Friday, "In response to the continued impact of COVID-19, the Gulf South Conference has suspended all athletic competition, countable athletic related activities, and off-campus recruiting for an indefinite period. This decision was made after thorough collaboration between the conference office, university presidents and chancellors, and the league's athletic directors."
 
The GSC and its membership will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available. The safety of our student athletes, coaches, administrators, fans and the general public are of the upmost importance and will guide the decisions the league makes moving forward.
