CLEVELAND, Tenn. Lee University men's golf team boosted it's 2023-24 team with the signing of Jaxon Reed, Lee Director of Golf John Maupin announced on Thursday, November 17.
Reed, a Crossville, Tenn. native, comes to Lee from Cumberland County High School. He is a two district player of the year and a two time state tournament qualifier. He has set the school record for low round and earned a spot on the TN Junior Cup Team in 2022.
Coach Maupin says of Reed, "After spending just a little bit of time with Jaxon I knew he would be a great fit for our program, and a guy that we definitely wanted on our team. Jaxon's play in some bigger events really stuck out to us, he had some strong performances this summer. I was drawn to his competitiveness and work ethic, he has all the tools of someone that excels at the college level. I know that he's also a big team guy, and will be the kind of teammate that makes everyone around him better. I'm looking forward to having Jaxon in our program!"
Reed is very excited to be a Flame. "As soon as stepped on campus, it felt like home. All the guys on the team were super nice and welcoming and coach was awesome and I like the ways he seem to go about coaching. I hope to develop my game to new levels and grow not only as a golfer but a student and hopefully go and chase some national titles."
