SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Lee University women's cross country team recorded 284 points to finish ninth out of 34 teams at the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships Saturday at a muddy Arcade Creek Cross Country Course.
This is the second straight ninth-place finish for the Lady Flames at the DII championships. The program's best finish was eighth in 2021.
Adams State was the team champion with 61 points. West Texas A&M (127) was second with CSU-Pueblo in third with 160 points. The Lady Flames were the top finisher among the three South Region teams. Nova Southeastern finished 29
th (806) and Tampa was 30
th (862).
Lauren Kiley of Grand Valley State was the overall individual winner of the 6K race at 20:28.5. Aria Hawkins and Ana Patricia Campos were the top two finishers for Lee. Hawkins (21:22.7) placed 34
th and Campos was 40
th (21:27.1). As a result of finishing in the top 40, Hawkins and Campos earned All-American honors.
Lily Hare stopped the clock at 21:43.5 for 58
th position. Letlhogonolo Magoro gave Lee two runners in the top 100 with a time of 22:06.1 (92
nd). Ashlyn Iliff completed the Lee scoring at 98
th after crossing the finish line at 22:09.6.
Megan Adams and Katie Krueger were Lee's spacers. Adams finished 107
th at 22:14.7 and Krueger was 173
rd (22:56.2).
