PENSACOLA, Fla. – A lone goal late in the first half for the University of West Florida was enough as the Argos defeated the Lee University men's soccer team 1-0 on Saturday night in the Gulf South Conference tournament quarterfinals. The Flames battled for the equalizer but could not convert and Lee's season came to the end in the postseason with a 4-7-6 record.

Coach Derek Potteiger's Thoughts:
"This is always the worst moment for a coach, when the season comes to a screeching halt and you have to process the loss itself, the end of a season for the team as a whole, and ultimately the end of some careers. My response to all those things is to be really proud of the effort tonight, really appreciative of how hard the guys played and performed this season, even when goals and results just wouldn't go our way, and then of course so grateful to the guys who are ending their career and the impact they have had on the program.
Give credit to West Florida, they are a very good team, and it's always hard to play there in an elimination game; but we certainly had some moments and gave ourselves every chance to come out of there with a result.
We will close out the season well, but preparations will begin really soon as every returner is hungry to improve and make sure next season moves us forward."
