Lewis-Perkins is All-American, Looking to Seek Career in Pro Golf

NORMAN, Okla. - Lee University golfer Oliver Lewis-Perkins had the final wrapping put on his outstanding career by being named a member of the NCAA DII PING All-America Teams. Three teams and twenty-four linksters were honored by the GCAA and Lewis-Perkins was listed as a member of the third team.

The Lee senior had a stroke average of 72.5 this season. The Flames placed second in the Gulf South Tournament, and he earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. The GSC had earlier named Lewis-Perkins the GSC player of the year.

Lewis-Perkins lead his team to a third-place finish in the NCAA DII South/Southeast Regional and a spot in the National Tournament. Individually he was medalist in the prestigious Copperhead Championship and fired a school record 202 (for three rounds) in leading the Flames to the team title. The Flames claimed top honors in the Wind River Intercollegiate and placed 11th in the DII National.

Lee Head Coach Evan Spence expects Lewis-Perkins will remain in Cleveland, turn professional, and begin preparing for Korn Ferry Tour Q-School at the end of this year.

"I am proud of Ollie for his accomplishments on the course this season and happy that he has received this recognition. He has a raw talent and passion for the game of golf that you do not come across too often," noted Coach Spence.

"Ollie had a tremendous impact on our program over the course of his four years here, and we certainly wish him the best as he transitions into his professional career this summer," the Coach concluded.
