Lee University Athletics and Hardee's are pleased to announce an expanded corporate partnership agreement for the 2024-25 season.
Hardee's, operated by J& S Restaurants, Inc. locally, signed a two-year expanded partnership with the Flames. They will continue to serve as the official sponsor of the Lee Flames mobile app but will now also be the presenting sponsor of men's and women's soccer, baseball, softball, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's tennis.
Julia Scoggins, President and Chief Operating Officer of J&S Restaurants, Inc. said, "Our father the late George Johnson began partnering with Lee College many years ago. He knew the importance of supporting higher education in our own communities. We have been proud to continue his legacy of support of Lee University through the George R. Johnson Family Foundation and J&S Restaurants, Inc. Now we are excited to lift our partnership to a higher level with Hardee's becoming a Premiere Sponsor of Lee Athletics. With Hardee's 100% Angus Charbroiled burgers cooked over an open flame, we are a perfect match! Go Flames!"
Hardee's will also serve as the sponsor of the Student Section at men's and women's soccer and women's lacrosse games. The bleachers are right on the turf field at the Ray Conn Sports Complex and will bring fans closer to the action than ever before.
"We are thrilled to continue and expand our partnership with Hardee's! We share similar values and they believe in our vision for Lee Athletics," said Lee Athletic Director, John Maupin. "Their support will continue to drive an elite student athlete experience at Lee University. I hope our fans will join us in supporting Hardee's because they support the Flames!"
"Hardee's, under the leadership of the Johnson Family, has been a staple of excellence in our community since the 1960's. The partnership between our two brands is a perfect fit because Lee University Athletics values excellence in all we do, both on and off the playing field. We are grateful to expand our partnership moving into this new athletic season," said Lee Director of Donor Relations Carman Lastoria. "The support of Hardee's and their commitment to education and athletics will help us continue to develop and graduate champions in all facets of life."
The Johnson family's involvement with Hardee's dates back to 1965. George R. Johnson opened his first Hardee's on White Street in Athens, Tennessee and later opened his first Cleveland location in 1967. Still family owned and operated today, Hardee's continues to be a customer-driven company, with over thirty locations throughout East Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.
