The fifth-ranked Lee University men's cross country team placed fifth out of 26 teams Saturday morning at the UAH Chargers XC Invitational.
The Flames sat their top six runners to give them an extra couple weeks of rest heading into the Gulf South Conference Championships but still garnered a top five finish with 138 points.
Evan Moore was Lee's top finisher at 24:50.80. He placed 16th overall with Xian Campbell crossing the finish line in 17th place at 24:52.60.

The Lady Flames collected 76 points to finish behind No. 5 Cedarville University, who amassed just 18 points.
Aria Hawkins, running unattached, was the top finisher in the field of 250 runners. She crossed the finish line at 20:37.01. .
Lee's top runner was Maria Mitchell. She stopped the clock at 20:50.30 for fifth place. Estella Clemons placed 10th with a time of 21:39.20 and Capucine Cureau claimed 19th (22:01.21).
