MOBILE, Ala. – On a rainy Sunday afternoon, the Lee University women's soccer team and Spring Hill College battled to a scoreless draw on Library Field. The result puts the Lady Flames at 3-2-1 in GSC action and 5-2-2 overall while the Badgers are 0-2-3, 2-2-6.

Lee took 10 shots on the wet surface and placed five on goal. Spring Hill fired seven shots and had only two on target. Lady Flames' keeper Abby Whitcomb was credited with two saves and Badger keeper Carlotta Stark had five.

Megan Davis and Siri Stenslie were the only Lee players to fire two shots the entire contest. Stenslie placed both on goal while Davis had one. Sydney Clements and Alaysia Nye had the other shots on target.

Four of the Lady Flames shots came in the opening half and six in the second stanza. The Badgers only took two in the opening frame and five in the final 45 minutes. Lee had five corner kick opportunities and Spring Hill three. Whitcomb had her only two saves in the first half while Stark had two in the first and three in the second.

The Lady Flames were whistled for 16 fouls on the wet turf while the Badgers were flagged for 11. There was one yellow card issued to a Spring Hill player.

After the rugged two-game road swing, Lee will return to the Ray Conn Sports Complex on Friday and will host Trevecca Nazarene University in the first game of a doubleheader which is slated for a 5 p.m. first kick.

Coach Lee Hughes' thoughts:
"There were certainly a lot of external factors to the game today, but we certainly were not at our best."
