Lady Flames Earn #3 Seed in the NCAA South Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the fourth time in five years and for the ninth time since becoming a NCAA DII member, the Lee University women's soccer team will be dancing in the NCAA tournament. The Lady Flames were chosen as the #3 seed in the upcoming south regional and will face the #6 seed University of Montevallo. The Lady Flames and Falcons will battle in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Friday, November 21.

Lee went 11-3-3 this season and lost in the quarterfinals of the Gulf South Conference tournament. The Falcons went 12-6-2 this season and was the runner up in the GSC tournament.

The University of West Florida was named the top team in the region and will host one half of the bracket. They will await the winner of #4 Florida Tech University and #5 Embry Riddle University. On Lee's side of the bracket. Nova Southeastern University is the #2 seed and awaits the winner between Lee and UM.

This will be the second time Lee and Montevallo will have faced off. Lee beat UM in Cleveland 3-1 on October 15.

Across the country, First-round matches will take place Nov. 21 and second-round matches will take place Nov. 23. Each region will consist of two sites with all games played on the campus of a participating institution. The two finalists in each region will advance to the third-round competition to be played Nov. 30. Regional champions will meet in the quarterfinal-round to be played Saturday, Dec. 6. The semifinal and championship games will take place Dec. 11 and 13 at Switchbacks FC Stadium hosted by Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
