LAKELAND, Fla. – The Lee University men's cross country team placed five runners in the top eight on their way to recording the program's seventh championship at the 2025 NCAA Division II South Region Championships Saturday morning. The 10K victory at Holloway Park was the fifth consecutive South Region title.
The Flames totaled 24 points to beat Florida Southern by 29 points. The Mocs scored 53 points to finish in second place and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) was third with 110 points to claim the final automatic qualifier to the NCAA DII National Championships.
Colten Lee of Palm Beach Atlantic was the individual champion with a time of 31:22.34. Tucker Wright was Lee's top finisher at second place overall with a time of 31:36.83. Edimo Ninteretse was third at 31:37.14. Pierre Chauveau and Luke Gaddis finished fifth and sixth with times of 31:42.84 and 31:52.29, respectively. Evan Moore rounded out the Lee scoring with an eighth-place finish. He crossed the finish line at 32:01.77.
Chris Ross completed the course in 23
rd with a time of 32:46.33 to put six Lee runners on the All-Region list by finishing in the top 25. Ryan Lovelace rounded out the Lee finishers. Lovelace was 45
th (33:42.10) out of 128 runners.
The Flames will now turn their attention to the 2025 NCAA DII Championships which will be held Saturday, November 22, at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The complete field of 34 teams and 24 individuals will be released on Monday, November 10.
