Women's Soccer Upset in GSC Semifinals by UAH

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –The #2 seed Lee University women's soccer team was upset by #6 seed UAH 1-0 in double overtime on Friday night. The Chargers held Lee scoreless for 101 minutes before Prescott Hull found the back of the net to give UAH the win. The loss snapped a six-game shutout streak by the Flames.

With the loss, Lee will now wait and see what their fate for the NCAA South Region Tournament will be. The selection show will be on Monday, November 9. UAH will take on the University of Montevallo in the championship game on Sunday. Montevallo defeated Delta State University in the semifinals.

Lee outshot UAH 12-3 in the contest but only7-2 in shots on goal. Cece Szopa made seven saves in the win for UAH. Abby Whitcomb had one save in goal for Lee.

Lee had 12 fouls to just seven for the Chargers.

Coach Lee Hughes's Thoughts:

""We had plenty of chances to win the game tonight, but we weren't able to get it over the line unfortunately. Again nothing changes for us, we will continue to work and get better for our next match."
