Lee Athletics Earns Sixth Straight Gulf South Conference Overall All-Sports Trophy

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- For a sixth straight year, the Lee University Athletic Department laid claim to the Gulf South Conference All-Sports Trophy after earning six league championships this season. Lee captured GSC tournament championships in men's cross country, women's indoor track & field, women's outdoor track & field, men's indoor track & field, men's outdoor track & field, and women's golf. Lee scored 127.250 points to take the top spot. The University of West Florida was second with 116.625 points.
 
The GSC began recognizing the All-Sports Trophy during the 2013-14 season. UWF won the first six trophies while Lee has now won the last six.
 
For both the men's and women's all-sports trophies, Lee finished in second place in both. The Lady Flames had 44.000 points while the Flames had 42.250 points.
  
In the overall standings, UWF finished second while Mississippi College was in third with 108.875 points. The University of Alabama in Huntsville was fourth with 99.500 points and the University of West Alabama was fifth with 86.500 points.
 
West Florida won the Men's All-Sports trophy with 46.250 points. Lee was second with 42.250.250. UWF last won the men's trophy after the 2017-18 seasons. The Argos have now won nine times which is tied the most in GSC history. They tied Valdosta State University and jumped one ahead of Troy University. 13 different schools have won the men's trophy.
 
On the women's side, UWF won with 46.875 points. Lee was second with 44.000 points. UWF has now won the women's trophy an unprecedented 18th time. The University of North Alabama has six wins while Lee and Jacksonville State University each have five. Nine different schools have won the women's trophy.
 
The GSC will present the All-Sports Trophy in Pensacola, Fla., as part of the league's annual awards banquet.
