MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Lee University men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday evening. The #11 Auburn University Warhawks defeated Lee 1-0. The Flames fell to 3-1-2 overall while AUM improved to 4-1-0. Lee hasn't defeated AUM since the 2018 season.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half. AUM doubled the amount of shots Lee took 8-4.
In the second half the lone goal came from Alan De Paula for AUM. He scored on the left side of the goal on a pass from Malik Mawd.
AUM outshot Lee 21-6 in the contest. The Warhawks had ten corner kick to just three for Lee. The Flames had ten fouls and three yellow cards while AUM had two yellow cards and 15 fouls.
Charles Carriglitto had four saves in goal for the Flames. Matia Milla Munoz had the most shots for Lee with two.
The Flames will return home on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:30 PM when they host the University of West Alabama.
