Coach Almeida begins her third year of leading the Lady Flames. During the 2021-22 season the former Lee All-American served as an assistant under Coach John Maupin who was Lee’s Director of Golf. She was promoted to head women’s golf coach at the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
Geandra is also a fulltime mother. She and her husband Steve have two children, Nikki 8 and Benji 6.
The 2023-24 campaign was highlighted by the return to the National Tournament after the 2022-23 club failed to qualify. The Lady Flames were runner up in six of 11 invitationals events before placing fourth against talented opponents in the DII South/Southeast Regional.
Over the past two years the Lee coach, who the GSC named as Co-Coach of the Year, helped direct the outstanding play of
Supuschaya "Yui" Srichantamit. For the second consecutive year “Yui” was named First-Team All-American by Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). Earlier she was selected First-Team All-South Region for a second time by the WGCA. “Yui” walked away with the Gulf South Conference Golfer of the Year honors again and claimed medalist honors in the GSC Tournament.
In her first season as head coach, Almeida led Lee to the Gulf South Conference Tournament Championship and was named the GSC Coach of the Year. All-American Srichantamit was joined on the All-GSC team by Hannah Nall, Carson McKie, and Emily Felix.
Almeida graduated from Bethel University (Mishawaka, Indiana) with a major in Business Administration and minor in Economics. She completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in May of 2020, also from Bethel.
Before coming to Lee University, she was the No. 1-ranked amateur in Brazil (2009). At Lee she was a NAIA All-American (2011-2012), Southern States Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year (2011), and Southern States Athletic Conference All- Conference (2011, 2012).
At Bethel University (Mishawaka, Indiana) Almeida was a NAIA All-American (2013-2014), NAIA Scholar Athlete (2013-2014), Crossroads League Female Athlete of the Year (2014), Crossroads League Women’s Golf Player of the Year (2013-2014), Crossroads League All-Conference (2013-2014), and a member of the NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team (2014).
She had head coaching experience and success at Bethel before returning to Lee as an assistant. Almeida coached the Pilots to the North Central Region Championship (2019, 2020), was named NCCAA North Central Region Coach of the Year (2019, 2020) and her 2020 team finished runner-up in the NCCAA National Championship. She coached a NAIA All-American (2021) and four NCCAA All-American (2019, 2020). She had a number of players earn NAIA, NCCAA Scholar Athlete honors.
