Despite losing one of her top players to a season-ending injury nothing was going to derail the 2024 determined Lady Flames as they reached the semifinal round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament for the first time since 2017 and ended the season with a winning mark of 19-16.Â
Freshmen Payton Danley and Sara Palumbo enjoyed outstanding seasons and earned slots on the All-Gulf South Conference Second Team.
Junior Grace Mazzocca was named to the 2024 Academic All-District Team. The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams are selected by the College Sports Communicators and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Mazzocca carried a 3.85 GPA in Visual and Performing Arts for the Lady Flames.
In her first year of directing the Lady Flames, the former Lee NAIA All-American led her club to its first winning record (17-14) since 2018 and the team earned a spot in the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
One member of the 2023 team, Abby Stroh, was named first-team All-GSC while Kamryn Halpin, Macy Petty and Allie Scurlock were listed on the Academic All-District team for their work in the classroom.
