Niesen begins her first season as an assistant coach for head coach Christa Fabre. She enjoyed a decorated five-year career as the Wheeling University Cardinals’ setter from 2020-24 and served as the Cardinals’ graduate assistant for two campaigns.
During her playing career, Niesen was a five-time All- Mountain East Conference honoree, including being named the MEC’s Volleyball Player of the Year during both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. She is a four-time All-Region player and a three-time All-American, helping to lead the Cardinals to the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Tournament in each of her five seasons with the Cardinals. Niesen finished her career as the program's all-time leader in assists with 6,303 and became just the 22nd setter in NCAA DII history to reach the 6,000-career assist mark.
Niesen received her Master of Business Administration at Wheeling University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Wheeling in 2024.
