Philip Tang is in his third year as the Lee Athletic Communications Director after spending one season as the Athletic Communications Coordinator. 

Tang arrived in Cleveland after spending nine years as an assistant in the Office of Athletic Communications at Delta State. He also spent time as the Director of Media Services for First Baptist Church of Cleveland, Miss., Tang helps oversee all digital content for the Flames and assists with the coordination of broadcasts and video streaming, while lending his voice to the Lee Flames Sports Network.

“In just one season, Philip Tang brought a vast wealth of experience, versatility, and energy to our Athletic Communications Department,” said Lee Associate Athletic Director, Carman Lastoria. “He has worked with respected GSC institutions over his young career and I’m excited to announce his promotion to Athletic Communications Director. Philip will continue to help us tell the story of Lee Athletics with clarity and excellence as he leads our communications department."

Tang joined Delta State from Union University in Jackson, Tenn. He graduated from Delta State with a master's degree in sports administration in 2015 after serving the past two years as the coordinator of broadcasting and video streaming.

Tang worked with men's and women's soccer, men’s and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, softball, cheerleading and golf at DSU. He we also behind the mic for more than 700 sporting events for the Statesmen.

He spent four years working in Union University’s Sports Information Department primarily as a radio broadcaster and statistician. He also was a lead color commentator for Union’s TV basketball broadcast for three years. He was behind the microphone for three NAIA women’s national basketball championships.

Tang had worked as a video technician for EPLUS TV-6 in Jackson, Tenn. He also has been behind the microphone for over 600 high school and college sporting events in West Tennessee.

Tang graduated from Union University in May 2012 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and then from Delta State University in 2015 with a Master's degree in 2015.

He and his wife Allison reside in Cleveland with their daughter Jade. Allison graduated in 2014 from Union University with a degree in Spanish. She also earned a degree from Southwest Baptist University in 2017 as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is currently a physical therapist in the Cleveland area. Jade was born in May of 2025
