Tom Halsall

A familiar face returns to Lee University as the assistant women's soccer team coach. Tom Halsall is a 2016 Lee graduate and spent the last three years as the women’s head coach at Bryan College. 

Before coming to the United States from the United Kingdom and joining the in the fall of 2012, Halsall was part of Premier League Club Manchester City as a goalkeeper from the ages of 12 to 18. Competing in the Youth Cup and Youth Champions League in 2011.

Halsall gained valuable experience and was then part of the first-team squad for the 2011-12 Premier Winning Season. He had a two-month loan spell at Championship side Derby County, before making the decision to move to America to play collegiate soccer for the Flames and to earn a degree.
In 2016-17 Halsall accepted his first coaching job at Erskine College. From 2017-19 he was the men's and women's assistant coach at Shorter University while also working for a master’s in business management. In 2019-20 he was the Director of Goalkeeping at the Florida Elite Soccer Academy.

Halsall began his first stint at Bryan in the fall of 2020. In 2021 and 2022, he was a graduate assistant at the University of North Alabama earning a master's in kinesiology. In 2022 he returned to Bryan to be the women's soccer head coach. 

Head Coach Lee Hughes said, “I am excited to have Tom joining our staff! I know he is excited to return to Lee after a great playing career here. Our staff, team and goalkeepers will really benefit from having him here. Most of all we have added a great human to our team!"

Halsall resides in Athens, (Tenn.) with his wife Arielle whom he met while coaching at Bryan back in 2019.
