Jessica Childers has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week after guiding the women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship in Houghton, N.Y. last weekend.

The junior continued to lead the way for the Lady Flames with a time of 18:19.0 in the 5k race. Childers' time was good for a fifth place finish and earned her NCCAA All-American honors, joining teammates Seth Eagleson, Harold Smith, Tyler Boone and Elizabeth Sillcocks.

Childers and the Lady Flames will now set their attention on the indoor track season which will begin on Dec. 6 at the Birmingham Southern Invitational.
