David Perez garnered national honors this week as he was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA)  Student Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore forward led the Lee men's soccer team to the program's first ever national title as he scored a goal in all four championship matches. Perez hit the game winner in the 2-1 victory over Bethel (Ind.) on Saturday in the tournament finals.

The Dalton, Ga. native finished the season with 10 goals and three assists. Perez was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Offensive Player and. Seemingly playing his best on the biggest stage, Perez had a breakthrough performance in last year's NCCAA Tournament as just a freshman.
