Junior outfielder Chris Adams was recognized as the Lee University Male Athlete of the Week after providing some last at-bat heroics in Saturday's comeback win over Shorter University.

With the Flames trailing the Hawks 9-3 heading to the bottom of the sixth it was Adams' two-run homer that jump started the rally. Adams would add a run-scoring single in the eighth and then complete the five RBI performance with a walk-off two-run single in the ninth to give Lee the improbable, 10-9 victory.

The Huntsville, Ala. native continued to swing the bat well in the nightcap as he went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. The Flames dropped game two to Shorter by a, 3-1 count.

The lefty seems to have found a home in left field for head coach Mark Brew, "We had some huge at bats late (in the game) and Chris had a huge day." Adams has started the last seven games for Lee helping the Flames go 5-2 over that stretch.

Lee will step outside the GSC to battle Columbus State of the Peach Belt Conference on Wednesday. The game will be played in Emerson, Ga. at a neutral site. The Flames will get back into league play with a trip to West Florida and a three-game series beginning on Saturday.
