Lee men's golfer Taylor Davis has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time in as many weeks after pacing the Flames in the Argonaut Invitational last week in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

Davis fired the best round (68) in the tournament last Tuesday to help direct Lee to a seventh place finish against some of the strongest teams in NCAA Division II golf. The event was hosted by fellow Gulf South Conference (GSC) member West Florida.

The junior from Franklin, Tenn. improved his scoring in each round (76-73-68 - 217) of the 54-hole event that was played at the Tiger Point Golf Club. His sizzling play earned a fourth place finish behind North Alabama's Forrest Knight (68-72-69- 209). Spencer Olson of West Florida was second (72-71-72- 215) followed by Limestone's Matt Mullarkey (73-72-71- 216). Reed Lindsey of Delta State rounded out the top five finishers (72-72-74- 218).

Davis has been locked in during the spring season for head coach John Maupin. He finished 10th at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tenn. on Mar. 9 and took home medalist honors two weeks later with an individual victory at the University Golf Classic hosted by North Alabama.

Davis and the Lee men's golf team will wrap up the 2014-15 campaign at the GSC Championship on April 20-22 in Tunica, Miss. at the Tunica National Golf Course.
