Lee University first baseman Ben Holland has been honored as the National Christian College Atheltic Association (NCCAA) Student-Athlete of the week.
The junior from Mufreesboro, Tenn. helped lead the Flames to a 4-0 week with a victory over Young Harris College and a three-game sweep of Christian Brothers University.
Holland was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 5-0 blanking of the Mountain Lions.
The right-handed slugger continued to swing the bat well over the weekend as he went 5-for-12 with three home runs and seven RBI in Lee's sweep of Christian Brothers to end the Gulf South Conference portion of the regular season.
On the year Holland, who played two years at Motlow State Community College, leads the team in home runs (10), RBI (32) and slugging percentage (.603).
Holland and the Flames will wrap up the regular season with a non-conference battle against Tusculum at Olympic Field on Tuesday night. Lee will host the NCCAA Mid-East Region tournament beginning Tuesday, May 12.
