BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lee University outside hitter Silvia Sartori (Fr.; Belgrade, Serbia) was named the Gulf South Conference Volleyball Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.
Sartori continues to contribute all over the floor for Lee. She combined for 53 kills, 42 digs, three blocks and two assists over four contests, including three conference matches, last week.
Sartori led the Lady Flames to victories over Alabama-Huntsville and Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday. The freshman dialed up 14 kills in a 3-0 blanking of the Chargers and came back later in the evening to register a career-high 20 slams in a 3-1 win over the Trojans.
The honor marks the second time this season that Sartori has earned GSC Freshman of the Week honors (9/29). Sartori and the Lady Flames will head on the road this week for three conference matches. Lee visits Christian Brothers in Memphis on Tuesday evening before taking a weekend trip to Valdosta State (Fri.) and No. 23 West Florida (Sat.).
