Lee baseball senior Trent Hill has been named the Lee University Male Athlete of the Week after guiding the Flames to a decisive three-game series sweep over No. 3 West Alabama last weekend.
Hill started things off with a run scoring single in the Flames' 12-2 victory over Young Harris last Wednesday.
The Bentonville, Ark. native followed that up with a walk-off double as Lee beat the Tigers 5-4 in game one the Gulf South Conference series. Hill then exploded in game two with a home run, double, single and five RBI.
On Sunday Hill secured the sweep of West Alabama with both his arm and his bat. On the mound the righty tossed 6 2/3 innings allowing four hits and one unearned run while striking out five. At the dish he helped himself with double, single and drove in a pair.
Hill is now hitting .364 with a 1.028 OPS, 15 doubles and four home runs. As a starter, he is 4-2 with a 3.43 ERA.
Hill and the Flames are now gearing up for a big weekend series in Jackson, Tenn. with the rival Union University Bulldogs. Both clubs are fighting for spots in the GSC tournament field.
