BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lee junior forward Summer Lanter joined West Florida's Marjorie Boilesen as Gulf South Conference Co-Players of the Year  and landed on the GSC First Team the conference announced this week.
 
"I am very happy for Summer," said Lee head coach Chris Hennessey. "She is a player that never stops working on the field. Whenever games are tight she always seems to come up with an assist or a goal at the right time. I think her being recognized for this award is thoroughly deserved. She possesses so much quality and really leads by example from the front."
 
"Kinsey (Cichowitz) and Summer have been so consistent this season," said the coach when looking over the GSC First Team. "They have scored 25 goals so far between them and we will certainly be looking to them during the postseason and hoping they can continue their form. They both have the ability to change the outcome of games and really drive the team on from an offensive standpoint."

Lanter has posted 11 goals and five assists this season for the Lady Flames who finished the regular season 14-2-1 and were co-champions of the GSC with West Florida at 11-1. Lee will await the winner of Mississippi College and West Georgia in the GSC Semifinals from Pensacola, Fla. on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
