Stevie Baird has been named the Female Athlete of the Week after performance at the Gulf South Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Baird homered on the third pitch of the game to give the Lady Flames the early advantage over Mississippi College. She would finish the contest 1 for 3 with two runs scored. The sophomore leadoff hitter is hitting .340 with 13 doubles, seven home runs and 37 RBI.

The Lady Flames fell to the Chocataws, 4-2 but heard their named called on Monday and will advance on to play in the program's first ever NCAA Regional Tournament. Lee opens with GSC rival Alabama Huntsville on Thursday at 3 p.m. from St. Leo, Fla.
