Tristen Putnam, senior goalkeeper for the Flames has been named the Lee University Male Athlete of the Week after the men's soccer team settled for a 0-0 double overtime draw with West Florida on Saturday night.
It was another solid effort for  Putnam and the defense of Jake Brown, Jeremy Bonyaa, Jay Luzardo and Samir Williams as they posted their fifth clean sheet of the year. Putnam kept West Florida off the board with two acrobatic saves in the second half and finished the match with seven total.
The senior from Forney, Texas has a 0.69 goals against average and a 0.867 save percentage. Coming into tonight's match Putnam ranked 15th nationally and second in the league in save percentage and 25th nationally and second in the GSC in goals against average.
Putnam and the Flames will head on the road this weekend to take on Auburn Montgomery at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Montevallo at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
