Women's basketball player Karley Miller has been named Lee University's Female Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 10-17.

The senior forward helped guide the Lady Flames to a victory over Tennessee Temple in the NCCAA Mid-East Region semifinals on Friday evening. Miller scored 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field as Lee cruised to a 82-47 win.

The victory set up a showdown with Gulf South Conference rival Union University in the Mid-East Region finals. Miller finished with 13 points and four rebounds as the Lady Flames came up just short against the Bulldogs, 65-68. The two powerhouse clubs met twice in the regular season with Lee claiming a two-point victory in Jackson and a five-point win at home.

Miller is averaging 7.7 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game during her senior campagin. The Kingston Springs, Tenn., native is shooting 46.9 percent from the field.

Miller and the Lady Flames will now gear up for the NCCAA National Tournament from Winona Lake, Ind. The No. 1 overall seed Lee squad will play host Grace College in the opening round of the eight-team tournament on Wed. (Mar. 19) at 5:15 p.m.
