Capping a successful senior season Lee baseball outfielder Jordan Howard was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-South Region Second Team the organization announced on Thursday.

Howard was an All-Gulf South Conference First Team selection as he hit .322 with 13 home runs, 11 doubles and 44 RBI in 2018. The powerful switch-hitter from Stockbridge, Ga., slugged .632 and posted an .408 on-base percentage.

In the GSC Championship game Howard blasted a key three-run home run to get Lee back into the game against Mississippi College after falling behind 7-2. The Flames came up just short falling 7-6 to Choctaws. Howard finished the GSC Tournament with five hits, two home runs and six RBI. 

"Congrats to Jordan on another great honor. We play in the toughest region in the country and to be honored as one of the elite players is special," said head coach Mark Brew. "He had some big swings for us throughout the season and I am glad he garnered this recognition for his play."
