Chevon Roberts has been named Lee University's Male Athlete of the Week after guiding the Flames to a 2-0-1 mark in Gulf South Conference (GSC) action last week.

The senior midfielder struck for his first goal of the season just two minutes into the match with West Alabama last Tuesday evening at the Lee Soccer Field. Roberts powered the ball into the back of the net on what coach Paul Furey called "an unbelievable shot" to give the home team the early 1-0 advantage. Roberts and the Flames would go on to secure the season sweep of the Tigers winning 3-2 on a Josh Ball penalty kick with just four minutes remaining in regulation.

The native of St. Thomas, Jamaica struck again on Sunday afternoon as the Flames defeated Delta State 3-2 in Cleveland, Ms. Roberts struck for two goals in the contest including the game winner at the 73rd minute mark to break a 2-2 tie. Roberts now has three goals and five assists on the year.

The Flames will host GSC foe Union University (Tenn.) on Friday at 7 p.m. From there Lee will travel to Huntsville, Ala. to square off with Alabama-Hunstville before playing their final home match of the year against Shorter on Nov. 1.
