Camil Martinez has been named National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week after helping guide Lee to a perfect 3-0 mark against Gulf South Conference opponents last week.

Martinez began the week with 32 assists, 12 digs and six kills in Tuesday's straight set victory over West Georgia. The senior setter registered 49 assists and 21 digs on Friday as the Lady Flames completed the season sweep of Union University (Tenn.) by a 3-1 margin.

The week finished on Saturday afternoon in one of the more thrilling matches to ever grace the sport court at Walker Arena. Martinez would do a little bit of everything as she finished with 43 assists, 24 digs and six timely slams to lead Lee past Christian Brothers in a five-set battle. The Dominican Republic native now has 582 assists and 192 digs on the season.

Martinez and the Lady Flames will finish the regular season with three conference road matches this week. Tonight (Nov. 12) Lee battles longtime rival Shorter University in Rome, Ga. at 7 p.m. before traveling to Alabama over the weekend to matchup with Alabama-Huntsville and North Alabama.

The Lady Flames will host the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Tournament beginning Friday Nov. 22.
